We’re looking for sponsors to help fund the Athens Ohio Roller Derby League (AORD). In return for your sponsorship, we’re offering home bout and advertising perks throughout the season. AORD is a roller derby league that was founded in 2010 in Athens. The organization is made up of local women+ and people who value inclusion, community service, and empowerment through sport. AORD follows the rules and ethics set forth by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and we are all committed to bettering our league and helping it grow. We have two teams within the league – Appalachian Hell Betties and the Black Diamond Betties. Each season we host multiple annual home bouts and participate in several away bouts. 

AORD is a registered non-profit organization, relying partly on the generosity and support of  the community to operate. In turn we continuously give back through donations, promotion, and  volunteering throughout the community with organizations with goals that AORD supports. Our league  members pay monthly dues, and our coaches volunteer their time to lead us. Our league is run by a  democratically elected board and our members put in endless hours to keep this league running.  

From your contribution, we hope to continue growing as a league and bettering our community. With  sponsorship funds, we will be able to continue our search for a sanctioned space to practice and  potentially become WFTDA certified, which would in turn mean hosting more home bouts in Athens in  the future. Our home bouts pull in hundreds of community members, the most being nearly 900.  Additionally, WOUB, Athens Messenger, Athens News and other publications come to cover the  action. Your generous sponsorship will be prominently displayed in our community.
